Biography
It was around 7am when a five-year-old Hailey saddled up next to the side of the bed where her sleeping mother lay. She nudged her gently, and as soon as her mother’s eyes produced sleepy slits, Hailey proclaimed, “Mommy, I want to be in a play.”
From an early age, Hailey was very active in the local theatre of Memphis, TN, and by her teenage years, she found a second love on the set of film, both in front of and behind the camera. Instead of receiving a weekly allowance from mundane tasks such as dishwashing or vacuuming (activities she still has trouble grasping), Hailey earned her keep by helping her production and location manager mother in the production office and on set. She was landing her own steady stream of gigs by 18, but despite an offer to move to LA, she opted to pursue an education at Emerson College in Boston, where she had received scholarships and grants.
At Emerson, Hailey designed her own major in Music Entertainment Business and combined many classes at Berklee College of Music to fulfill her self-imposed requirements. In addition to her studies in marketing, PR, and entertainment law, she remained incredibly active in acting and production and worked on many films and in the theatre throughout her time at Emerson. Eager to move on from Boston, Hailey played the overachiever card by graduating Magna Cum Laude an entire year early. She just couldn’t wait to move to New York City, pursue acting and film, and start paying back those exorbitant student loans.
Like most actresses entering the City that Never Sleeps, the red carpet was thrown down upon her arrival on Avenue D, allowing Hailey to realize her full potential as a bartender and waitress. Between shifts, she managed to work for companies like Headquarters Films, MTV, PYTKA Films, A&E, and Crunk Pictures. In the winter of 2006, she headed west for Hollywood, only to realize her wardrobe was too dark, her boobs too real, and her parallel parking skills too mediocre. She lasted roughly 46.2 seconds in LALA Land before getting a speeding ticket on the I-40 ramp heading back to NYC.
After another year of piecing together freelance production gigs and acting in Waaay-Off-Broadway productions and random films you’ve never seen, Hailey decided to put her Virgo practicality to use by landing two consecutive full-time jobs where she finally could join the ranks of the medically insured. She first served as Head of Client Services at the music production company Headroom Digital Audio, and then hopped on board at the global production company Hungry Man, Inc. where she worked directly for world-renowned commercial director, Bryan Buckley.
Stability? Totally overrated. Since 2009, Hailey has been able to fuel her aggressive yoga addiction with both acting and film production gigs all while finding the time to write screenplays, television shows, facebook status updates, and website bios written in the third person.
Hailey currently resides alongside hipsters and hedge fund dudes alike in Williamsburg, Brooklyn with her uber smart dog, Luna. She is currently in development on a feature film she wrote and is producing called “Bless Her Little Heart” as well as a comedic webseries titled “2040”, which currently can be seen on an Internet near you. She prefers to winter in LA because snow is dumb.
